Very cool to see big video card makers releasing FreeBSD drivers. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
And I just got rid of my gforce2 card DOH!
Speaking of which I bought a ATI Raedon 9000, a nice card, but still not supported in XFree86. Although I can use VESA with it no problem, at 60HZ, it drives me insane.
Now looking through the source at XFree86 I can see that support for the 9000 series of cards was added to the code about a month ago. Unfortunately it won't be out untill until XFree86 4.3 sometime in the next while. Being the impaitent sort I was hope to build that sucker from source to see if I could get my card to work. I downloaded what I though was there source tree through CVS, but it doesn't seem to be buildable at all.
So 2 quesitons. Is it possible to get VESA at a higher refresh rate, say like 70hz? (I think it is not, but maybe some here can confirm that for me.) And does anyone have any expereince in building XFree86 from the current source tree?
Thanks!

Building XF86 from src is straight forward, albeit time consuming, but i am not sure of VESA support. I would think you can get a higher refresh, but all i know for sure is that you wont get really high resolutions with it.
