Hey everyone.

Ok. I have Fluxbox and Mozilla-Firebird installed and running on my FreeBSD 4.8 box. No problems, except for one thing. It seems a bit blurry. The letters and words dont seem to be as 'crisp' as they should be.

I did some research on this system and found it has the following video card:

ATI Rage XL
8mb
PCI

I reran xf86config and tried a generic ATI driver. Still does the same thing.

Anyone have any suggestions on what it could possibly be?
Maybe I should take a screen shot and post it? If so, how do you take a screenshot in FreeBSD?

Thanks.

Gimp is good for screenies, id suggest installing the mozilla fonts :>

cd /usr/ports
make search key="mozilla fonts"

scrot (/usr/ports/graphics/scrot) is a simple cli app if you ever want a small screenshot program and don't want to bother with GIMP and its dependencies. Of course it's nice to have GIMP around for other stuff too. :)

Perhaps adding in a TrueType font server would make it look a wee bit better.. you can consult the handbook about that..

entice is another nice app for cmd line screenshots.. and has a nice interface for viewing a mass amount of images at once. though i think it depends on enlightenment

ImageMagick lets you do that -> import -screen root foo.png

other formats are supported.

/usr/ports/graphics/ImageMagick
