So building FreeBSD native OpenOffice port is practically impossible for most mere mortals. Apparently it takes about 5GB of workspace, something approaching a cray and a good day or so...
Well, let these good people do it for you and just install the package via pkg_add!
Nice thing is that they track revisions to the OpenOffice FreeBSD port, everytime a new revision to the port or a new version of OpenOffice is made they release new a package. Nice! Kept very up to date.
Current package (as of posting time) is OpenOffice 1.0.1_4 for FreeBSD 4.7 and packages for FreeBSD 5.0 current as well.

The English version is the one with no 2 letter prefix in the list.
