I'm in the process of setting up a mail server. Postfix and Sendmail both seem to use MAPS rbl.
I'm just wondering if any one actually uses this? Looks to be trial and error alot of the time as well. Anyone reccommend a better resource?

Thanks

A thread about this was recently on the sendmail newsgroup. Here are some results that were posted for specific rbls.

Note, individual people posting their results with different rbl checks.
[code:1:491069aee6]

relays.visi.com: 9071 finds
list.ordb.org: 490 finds
list.dsbl.org: 89822 finds
sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org: 28883 finds

list.dsbl.org: 33396
dnsbl.njabl.org: 5394
sbl.spamhaus.org: 1666
dsn.rfc-ignorant.org: 2346

cbl.abuseat.org: 4035
dun.dnsrbl.net: 77

It should be noted for the following.

relays.ordb.org relies on people reporting open relays.
spamcop as a reputation of being extremely aggressive and often getting false positives.

Hope that helps.
