I'm trying to install firefox on my laptop but I'm getting an error when it gets around to installing nspr-4.4.1 (compiling libnspr4.so.1)
it craps out with
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpthread

Looking around it looks like something with(and I'm really just guessing wildly here) linux compat threading something something or that it's supposed to say -pthread. This is my uneducated guess  All help is GREATLY appreciated! I really don't agree with konqueror....

Have you tried to install the precompiled version of firefox, run `pkg_add -r firefox'. By the way, I've found the newest Konqueror renders pages alot faster than Firefox you might want to give that a shot..

Good luck.

I think I'll try that idea myself. I found the older versions of Firebird ran much better than firefox. I will give the ol' Konq a shot.

I'm more bothered by navigational issues (within the program itself, not on the web) more than page rendering. My internet connection doesn't really allow me to pick up on differences there  hehehe....
