Please post any bugs that you find or suggestions/tweaks that you think might be needed here. VBulletin is massive and we're novices right now at it so I'm sure this thread will be quite full.

We'll try to address each problem/suggestion/tweak as it comes in!

When I checked my PMs, I had every PM I had ever sent in my inbox, while the sent messages directory was empty I don't know if this was just me, or a forum issue, but all the messages that were there were deleted on the old forum.

when I try to create a new thread in OpenBSD news section I get this:
You have included too many images in your signature or in your previous post. Please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator.

even though I dont have any img's in my sig or post. Or smileys for that matter.

Ok, I can create threads in the OpenBSD news section, however I cannot put in the "Whats New" section of the OpenBSD release announcement in the OpenBSD news section, or the OtherBSD news section.

Luke, here's the deal with pm's. I've checked with the vBulletin group and they've told me that the pm portion of the migration script is problematic. What they suggested doing was to re-import the database. Since we've already started using the new board and since they can't promise that it will work even if it's re-imported the pm system will remain hosed. Best thing to do is to just remove the old messages from your inbox and start over. Sorry about that. Mind you if there is something of extreme importance I still have the old board and will consider fetching specific pm's.

oh there was nothing of extreme importance, I just didn't think that's what was supposed to happen, so I thought I'd report it, just to make everyone aware of it if they get the same thing, also so that the admin team could figure out what caused it to prevent future problems with PMs

Is there a reason why a post must be a min of 10 characters? I just tried replying back to a msg with a short answer and got that error. http://screamingelectron.org/forum/images/smilies/silly.gif

Yes this was done intentionally. To prevent someone from making a bunch of posts with just one or two words.

Hi, I know I haven't been around here much for a while, been kinda busy, so I hope this issue is already basking in the light of the collective SE minds.

The 'New Posts' link on the home page is reporting new posts, though when I select the link the seach query returns empty. After I returned to the home page via the 'Home' link on the horizontal navigational bar, the 'New Posts' link reported 0 links, though I expect this to be normal behaviour.

Anyhow, catch ya soon folks

Seems to work ok for me, it does at times act a little odd. You might try the quicks links button, I put links there for posts in the last 24 hours, last 7 days and last 30 days.

Thanks for the tip Elmore. Unfortunately, in certain situations (such as not visiting the site in a week) the problem still persists.
It's not a great big bug though, just a royal PITA. Thanks for acknowledging :)
