When I installed, I chose to install xserve35.tgz as well as xfont35.tgz. When I was asked whether X is expected to run, I answered yes as well.

But when I booted up, it won't start X. No where in FAQ also mentioned how to configure X (at least I'm not seeing it). I tried using startx but it returns command not found. Now, I'm stuck.

How do I configure X and where it's set to start x automagically? And also, if manually be started, what is the command?

TIA

Okay, I found some of the things to try in this thread (http://screamingelectron.org/forum/showthread.php?t=848) . I'm gonna try some of those and see what happens.

I shoulda have looked a little deeper on this forum. Sorry.

your gonna have to configure your xf86Config file first, use

"XFree86 --configure" for that

Also, if startx is not in your path, you can find it here:
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx
