Came across this last night as I was setting up a timer on an old AM radio and tape deck to get the new Regular Guys shows:

There are two provided scripts. One handles scheduling through cron and at. The other invokes lame and mplayer to pull a stream and compress it to MP3 and dies after a specified time period (length of the show).

Coupled with kplaylist ( to stream the MP3s, this combination makes my work day go by a lot smoother. Plus it works even on networks that typically block media streaming.
