FreeBSD 6.0-BETA4 is not yet announced but it is available through ftp. Check it out using mirrors (http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/mirrors-ftp.html) list.

The good news is they have branched RELENG_6 and that means you can track it. It just a simple cvsup, rebuild and you have the latest. I just started my update when I saw that beta 4 was here. I started with beta 1 and have kept updating this box I'm testing with. I have VMware install at work that I took from 5.4 to Beta3 and that was a smooth upgrade.

Boron? Why you use the same completely-unique naming convention I do! =]

You know, I can't get 6 to install on vmware. It crashes with a kernel panic right after it starts extracting base.

*Ahem* That's why I decided to try the upgrade path. I had the same thing happen when I tried to go straight to 6.0beta. Guess there's some reasons for another beta instead of a release candidate.
