Hehehe... Odd problem here. I'm running FreeBSD 5.3 STABLE and I'm pretty good at keeping things 'up to date'. But lately I have a couple of packages that after running a "portupgrade -rR", if I reboot the machine portversion shows they need upgrading again.

Any suggestions / clues as to where to start looking?

Make sure your pkgdb and port indexes are both up to date. pkgdb -u and cd /usr/ports ; make fetchindex ( or make index if you want to build it). Sounds like your indexes might not be in sync.
