All right I downloaded Open Office 1.0, unpacked it, then ran the setup script which goes just fine until it coughs up with the following error:

The libcpr641fi.so component was unable to be registered.

As side note the setup program does not pick up my jdk1.3 java binary. Anyone have any idea on how to set up Open Office under FreeBSD any suggestions or related links would be most welcomed.

Take a look at my post from a while ago;

http://screamingelectron.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=126

So go the site below;

http://projects.imp.ch/openoffice/

They build native FreeBSD packages of the latest OpenOffice that is in the ports. Download the verison you need.

Then just pkg_add it, and thats it.

I am running OpenOffice 1.02 on FreeBSD 5.0 with no problem. It works great.
