As we watch FreeBSD continuously blossom, we are more and more impressed with what they have to offer us. Unlike other distributions, we are not getting more fancy graphics, and eye-candy; we are getting new features to make it a more viable solution for servers and workstations then it already is.
As we know, FreeBSD inherited the ZFS (http://www.sun.com/2004-0914/feature/) file system in April as one of the new base file systems for the OS. Although we have yet to see a quarterly update on their progress, we can blatantly see (http://wiki.freebsd.org/ZFS) that they have already come farther than we hoped. Not only does the file system have functionality, it's now supported under many architectures.
