ok, i know one of the major benifits of apache 2 is threaded rather than pforked, and i know freebsd 4.x wasnt the greatest at threads (or so i was told), however, im wondering if freebsd 5 improved on this. im looking to deploy it in a development/production server (kinda devel, kinda production). feedback?

I haven't used apache 2 at all. I've been wanting to try it out though. Has anyone here run apache 2 yet?

Our test server at work is running 2.x but they are running on Solaris boxes, not sure how it is on FreeBSD 5.x.

I installed Apache 2 on my box to play with it but I run 4.8 so no help there.

I can't say on Apache2 on FreeBSD, but I ran it a while ago (like 2.3.XX I believei t was) and it was nice, I'm thinking of switching on our server (5.0-release) from Apache1 to Apache2...

EDIT: You also planning to run mod_php or mod_ssl or what?
