Hi again guys,
I was wondering how to configure mail (it echo new mail when you get new mail and does other things) so that it displays these messages and is set for my primary email. I am downloading my mail from a POP3 server and using SMTP to send messages. The man pages provided no help as neither did STFW. Therefore, I have come to you. If somebody could please point me in the right direction that would be great.
Thank you for your time.
Ilya.

if you look in the howto's area there's a couple nice articles by elmore and strog of setting up postfix and spamassas on openbsd.. you should be able to tell howto get it on freebsd w/ no problems from their article.

if you run into problems here's a start of a article based on freebsd
http://bsdhound.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=123
there are some errors in the article though mostly around the ldap section. i'm working on a updated article but wont be ready for some time now..
once you have a good mailserver you could just start giveing out that address provided you have a domain name and a mx record pointing to your box. if your a broke ass bitch then you could do yourname@xxx.xxx.xxx.xx (xx = ip address) though your probbibly on dhcp from your isp so that would not really work. best get a domain name..
then you can utalize a port called fetchmail where you can make it a daemon and snag mail from various pop servers then re-allocate them to specific user accounts.
