I recently installed apache on my FreeBSD box and can access the web page on the local box but can't on any other machine. Is this a permissions issue? If so permissions on what file or directory? :?:

Do you have firewall rules blocking port 80 on your machine, or is there something in the network that is blocking port 80 (my cable modem provider blocks port 80) ?

issue a sockstat -4 and look to see if apache is running... if it is chances are your firewall is blocking it off

You were right. I think my cable modem service provider blocks port 80 too. I set my httpd.conf file to listen on port 8080 and it works perfectly. Thanks for your help! :wink:
