I downloading Solaris 9 x86 with a 56k modem. Where can i find step by step instructions on how to install Solaris 9 x86 and the partitions on how they work?? Please reply back. Thanks guys.

These boards are generally used for BSD related questions. Solaris 9 is srv4 based, so isn't talked about here (side note: it has /usr/ucb/, but those utils run slower, at least /usr/ucb/ps is about 5 times slower than /bin/ps). Surely there are some solaris-specific boards out there.

Isn't it 3 cd's? Your download will take a long, long time. Good luck.

Solaris is a beast to install the first time.
