Seems mysql 323 is broke in the current ports tree.

Running on FreeBSD 5.1

checking if conversion of longlong to float works... Segmentation fault (core dumped)
configure: error: Your compiler cannot convert a longlong value to a float!
If you are using gcc 2.8.# you should upgrade to egcs 1.0.3 or newer and try
===> Script "configure" failed unexpectedly.
Please report the problem to dirk@FreeBSD.org [maintainer] and attach
the "/usr/ports/databases/mysql323-client/work/mysql-3.23.56/config.log"
including the output of the failure of your make command. Also, it might
be a good idea to provide an overview of all packages installed on your
system (e.g. an `ls /var/db/pkg`).

i've arlready sent an email to them about that... funny the next day they announced that they will be using the next version of gcc in 5.2... and dont bother trying to install egcs because thats broke too...

/me starting to think about going back to the 4x branch..

you can either use mysql4 or you can still use the package for mysql323

i'm running into some issues because i need libdnet so i can use arpd but libdnet is not compatable with ipfw2
